There is funding for art projects through grants. Once you graduate, you are eligible to apply. This is a (mostly Massachusetts-focused) list of grant opportunities. National and regional grants exist all over the United States.
- Awesome Foundation – Gives out $1,000 grants each month
- Now and There – Public Art Accelerator Program
- Mass Cultural Council
- Asset for Artists – Capacity Building Grants are specifically for emerging artists
- City of Boston – There are a number of grants through the City including the Opportunity Fund
- Live Arts Boston – Focused on live performance, social practice, music.
- New England Foundation for the Arts
- Collective Futures Fund
Artist Residencies
There is no shortage of search engines + lists for artists residencies. Start by looking into artists you admire or people in your network. See which residencies they may have been a part of and start there.
