Together, we will tune in to natural and community-made sounds. Deep listening feels rare and risky. World Listening Day, officially July 18th, is an opportunity to re-set, to celebrate the beauty of soundscapes within our reach. ⁠

Join the Sound Travels Team at MassArt and TERC and special guests on zoom for a session with resources, inspiration, and a preview screening of "When I Think About Sound," a documentary film in process featuring musicians, artists, and educators who appreciate and shape sound for public audiences. ⁠

Amanda McCluskey, a 2025 @MassArtBoston @MassArtSIM graduate will facilitate a panel of special guests including artist and designer of ListentoWaves, Victor Minces, and Anchorage Museum senior educator, Erin Marbarger, as well as @MassArtBoston @MassArtSIM recent graduate, Isabella Febbroriello, sound sculptor and instrument maker. ⁠

The World Listening Day Tune Up is for educators, exhibit designers, and community leaders with an interest in increasing listening among our various audiences. Listening well seems in short supply. World Listening Day is an opportunity to re-set, renew our efforts to curate sound experiences, and to celebrate the beauty of soundscapes within our reach and of our own and others' making. ⁠
